Picture, sound, finish
Rooms we design towards. Cinema rooms, studios, sets and the odd corner we have finished properly. Some are the standard we are drawing your room towards. Some are places we have built and worked in. None of them are a grey box with a logo on it.

Dedicated room. Velvet, a proper screen, lights kept off the picture. Ceiling projector, soft seating, a wall that earns its keep. Screen first. The room disappears, the picture does not. Recliners, a dark wall, and the posters you actually like. Picture over the fireplace. Kit hidden until you want it. A corner that behaves like a cinema, not a spare telly. Living-room cinema. It still has to look right at lunchtime. Match day or a film. Same screen, same seats. Where the ears come from. Studios taught us what a room does to sound. Family rooms count. Saturday morning is a screening too. Low seats, dark walls, nothing shouting over the picture. Not every cinema needs a row of black recliners. A living room laid out so the screen is the point of the room. Lofts and long rooms. We draw the seating before the sofa arrives. Desks, monitors, treatment. The unglamorous half of good sound. A booth only works if the room outside it is quiet too. Sound and how the room feels when you walk in. Same job, smaller scale. Racks, ventilation, cable that has somewhere to go. Levels, delays, crossovers. We do not leave a cinema on factory settings. Treatment that looks like it belongs on the wall. Lewis comes from music. The cinema has to sound like music, not a tin. Instruments on the way down. The building is part of the work. The projector goes up square, cabled, and serviceable. Not swinging on a screw. Picture work. Lighting tracks, clean corners, no excuses in the frame. Light, aimed. The same habit we bring to a cinema cove. A cove taught us how light spills. Cinema lighting should not spill onto the screen. Sets and cameras. We have stood on the noisy side of a lens. Old glass. We like tools that were built to be kept. A quiet room for picture and sound. Acoustics are not only for cinemas. Odd spaces. If it can be lit and heard, we can talk about it. Open plan. The hard one — sound, screen and a kitchen that still gets used. Telly in the kitchen diner, done so it is not an afterthought on a bracket. Big shells. We measure them before anyone talks about a screen size. Clean joinery and a straight floor. The finish is the job. Outside, lit properly. Garden rooms and summer screens start with the same care. Dressing-room light. Even, and not an accident. The small rooms get the same finish as the big one. Even the loo door. If it is in the building, it gets finished. A mirror is a lighting job. So is a screen.
